长城词典·孟姜女庙山海关东6公里的凤凰山上，建有一座贞女祠，这就是孟姜女庙。孟姜女庙小巧玲珑，分为前后两殿，前殿供奉孟姜女，后殿供奉菩萨。 “孟姜女哭倒长城”是家喻户晓的民间故事，意在控诉秦始皇修长城的暴政。其实秦代的长城，根本就没有经过山海关。孟姜女庙殿前的一副楹联非常有名：“海水朝朝朝朝朝朝朝落，浮云长长长长长长长消”。 Great Wall dictionary·Meng Jiangnv TempleLocated on Phoenix Mountain，6km east of Shanghai Pass，there is a virtuous woman temple named Meng Jiangnv Temple. Small but exquisite，the temple is divided into two sections： the front hall enshrining and worshiping Meng Jiangnv and the rear hall enshrining and worshiping Bodhisattva. The story of “the collapse of the Great Wall over the bitter wail of Meng Jiangnv” has become well-known folklore，and an accusation against the tyranny of Qin Shi Huang （the first emperor of Qin Dynasty）in building the Great Wall. In fact，the Great Wall of Qin Dynasty had never passed through Shanhai Pass. A very famous couplet hung on the front hall： “floating clouds often come and go，and very often sea waves ebb and flow”.
